Twice a month we make the trek to the University of Calgary to use their amazing climbing gym. Created in 1986, this gym is one-of-a-kind in Canada. It is constructed with massive concrete slabs with steep vertical cracks, inset real rock hand holds, and has more typical climbing-gym style holds bolted to the face to add variety.
This is an AWESOME indoor location to practice rappelling technique, with a 15-m vertical drop that had even the bravest students think twice before stepping off the edge.
