Canmore's Larch Rink

Canmore has a handful of lovely little ice rinks. Larch rink just opened up a few days ago. It was easily the worst skating we've had this year, but it was a lot of fun to have boards and nets to contain the action.

Skiing Mt. Norquay

It's begun already ... skiing season! We kicked the season off last week at Mt. Norquay where we enjoyed a fantastic ski lesson and excellent early season groomers. I'll try to get better photos next time; this will have to do for now!

Pond Hockey 2

Not only do we live in the MOST BEAUTIFUL place on earth, we also enjoy the MOST BEAUTIFUL POND SKATING on earth. Hands down. Really.

And if you're wondering what the fishing rod is all about, that's what we do when our legs get tired of playing pond hockey. We go fishing by the Morley Rollers :)

SkiFit North

Once again we are honoured to have Beckie Scott and Andrew Urton from SkiFit North running our XC ski programs. We actually started in October this year.... with no natural snow to be found on the ground anywhere. Thanks to the heavily funded Frozen Thunder program didn't stop us from enjoying our first lesson, surrounded by yellowing grass and dirt!

Urs Hole

Sometimes the students are .... well.... not the best attenders. One day, I found myself all alone; not a single student arrived on the buses. So, I drove over to Frankie's house, woke him up, and took him ice climbing. We managed to get six pitched up Cascade Mountain's "Urs Hole" climb before having to turn around. What a day!!!
